“Since the Greeks, artists have historically craved a muse. Alana Jessica Martin, one of New York City’s IT Girls— fulfills that desire. “All About Alana”, explores the sensibility that our star can shape through photographic vision. In this intergenerational group show, curated by Ryan McGinley, over 30 New York based photographers capture Alana Jessica in contrasting styles and contexts that accentuates her ever-expanding mythology. Taking notes from cultural bombshells like Marilyn Monroe and Pamela Anderson, Alana Jessica is entering a new realm of self transformation. Spanning from gritty black and white, medium format, to 35mm snapshots, selfies, photo booth strips and polaroids, these images showcase Alana Jessica’s versatility. This salon style exhibit is All About Alana— bringing together some of the culture’s strongest image makers to celebrate a singular talent”

Ryan McGinley is a New York–based photographer. His early photos displayed the unseen intersection of Skateboard and Graffiti culture with a strong Queer focus. At the age of twenty-five, he became the youngest artist to have a solo show at the Whitney Museum of American Art. For more than a decade McGinley has road tripped continuously throughout the United States to create work that incorporates the human body within the American landscape. You can always find Ryan on the streets of NYC doing Queer activism fighting for LGBTQ rights. McGinley frequently has solo gallery and museum exhibitions around the world.
Rectangle Room is an independent exhibition space and bookstore founded and directed by photographer and curator Tim Barber. Launched in 2025, Rectangle Room grew out of Barber’s longstanding engagement with contemporary photography and his experience building artist communities through projects such as tinyvicesarchive.com, Time & Space, and Dream Sequence Editions. Based in New York City, Rectangle Room operates as an evolving platform for photographic culture–connecting physical exhibitions and printed matter with the broader community surrounding contemporary image-making. Its program has included solo exhibitions, group shows, book launches and signings, and projects organized in collaboration with artists, publishers, and guest curators, bringing together established figures and emerging voices. Located in the storefront of 113 Eldridge Street in Manhattan, Rectangle Room is hosted by Primary Photographic @primaryphotographic, a full-service film lab offering processing, scanning, retouching, printing, and darkroom services. Rectangle Room also maintains an online store offering new and used books, print editions, artworks and ephemera.
